| Hey guys...
Let me clear the air about this little blog post....
First... Ms. Eden has spoken to me several times on IM in the past several MONTHS. Never once did she mention to us that she was bringing a cake to the con for the Master of Ceremonies.
Now if she did, We would have set up a special event for her and her crew to have a private party with Larissa. But that is NOT what she did. She went out of her way to bring a 20 person cake to a 300 person dinner. Why? because she wanted EVERYONE to see her be a big deal. Well I wasnt playing that game. AAD spent money on a cake for Larissa...Now why couldnt we do both? Ill tell you.
You NEVER EVER do something public like that for the MASTER OF CEREMONIES at ANY con without contacting the con staff first. She mentioned to me they "Didnt want it to be big..." which I called bullshit on, because if they didnt they wouldnt have brought the cake to dinner. She wanted to be singled out and special End of story.
I dont know what else is in that blog post, but I will tell you that Im a fair individual, and And i work hard to make sure the con is special for everyone. I DO NOT go for people that are full of drama, and that was what this entire thing was. Did I handle it a bit harshly? Maybe, but really what do you expect when you just do something like that at a dinner for the MOC? YOU DONT DO THAT AT ANY CON! Do you think RWA would allow something like that at a dinner for Nora Roberts? No they wouldnt.
This blogger will not be welcome at the event in the future, in fact, after the disparaging blog post I have banned her completely because there is NO REASON to have someone that has such disdain for me and the con taking up a space of a person that accepts things and is grateful for the event.
After this year, I have Banned two very unprofessional Bloggers from AAD. It kills me to do it, but much like AAD tells the Authors to leave the ego at the door, It looks like Im going to have to tell the bloggers to leave the drama there from now on.

| I honestly don't know what to say....
Stella I am sorry about the drama at the Con.... I hate to say that at the bigger ones i have been to don't have drama... but at smaller Cons that i have been to.... it happens...
I don't want to say bad things about the blogger.... but its seems like she wanted to be in your business when she was supposed to be con goer.... not a con cordinateter... because i have been to other convention i know how they work and that nothing is ever perfect. it seemed like the blogger had never been to a convention before. Not everything is organized. not everything starts on time and honestly its not going to be perfect... i think she need to get over herself a bit...
i hope that this doesn't mess up people's ideas of your convention (it hasn't mine... i can't wait to go and i know for certain that one bad review by one cranky blogger isn't gonna scare me away), but i think that everything will be great next year and honestly.... people should be having fun and enjoying there vacation at the convention instead of worrying about things that they shouldn't worry about....
I hope that you had fun this year stella.... and next year... i am telling you that we are going to have so much fun.... you will remember it for years to come.... and forget every bad thing that happened at AAD Philly | |

| Hey darlin...
It wont ruin anything for me. I know what I had to go through (like the 6 hours of stupidity to get the hotel their money because they wouldnt use paypal) and the last minute changes in rooms and such. This hotel was awful, and my issues with the con rooms were just the tip of the iceberg. They fucked with a LOT of people, even going so far as to try and charge people for the internet when in the contract it was free, charging peoples credit cards for NO REASON and putting handicapped people in rooms with murphy beds.
The fact that she was and is judging the event on shit that was out of my control just proves that shes looking for drama because of sour grapes. I know exactly what I had to go through (what Im still dealing with BTW, since we dont have everything finished)
Truth is we are suing the hotel for the bullshit... so they can blame me for everything... they wont get to see how it works when a hotel is not fucking shit up next year because she is banned. | |
