| just being able to meet some of my fav Authors, get a few autographs in an environment that's not wall to wall with other people is a great experience to me. I haven't ever been to a con so anything extra from the above is icing on the cake. From the way this event sounds, it's going to be one hell of an opportunity I don't want to miss. |

That is a wonderful thing to do. I know how heavy ALL those books can be. I'm thinking of bringing an extra suitcase or two. |

| Woo - the cost on a first rate box is way lower than the cost on an extra suitcase. (I think the lowest cost you'll pay is $75 for a suitcase. I've heard as high as $300.)
Also, if people are really trying to be super-frugal, you can send books (but not swag bags or any other goodies) media rate, which is super cheap - but you have to actually go to the post office. The boxes are way easier - flat-rate and you can send whatever you want. |

| I think that the flat rate boxes are a great idea. Paying for overweight luggage can be really expensive. Last year returning home from Florida my daughter's suitcast turned from free since we were flying Southwest Airlines to costing $100. Her suitcase was a few pounds over the weight limit. |

| this might have already been asked, but is the AAD con taking place in the Royal Sonesta hotel? or (hopefully) within walking distance? I'm beginning to wonder what kind of transportation I'm going to need for the long weekend also--> any idea of how far the airport is from the hotel (for those of us flying in to NOLA) & if taxi services are available (either through the con or just in general..) if it's a pretty far distance? |
