Wynter is the snow queen, she controls winter elements. She bring in the snow, ice, hail and any other phenomena we associate with the winter season. She controls how harsh or mild the season will be. But she's lonely, the one time she's been with a human she accidentally killed him. She's been watching Kai for a very long time; she's been infatuated with this human who seems to love the season she brings. A chance for them to meet finally presents itself and Wynter takes it, she'll deal with the consequences later.
Kai's father owes money to Gerda's father, when Gerda decides she wants Kai a deal is struck and the debt will be considered paid. Gerda is not anything Kai is looking for, she's spoiled and has no personality. Kai agrees to the marriage only to pay his fathers debt; when Wynter offers to pay the debt if Kai will spend the season with her Kai senses that Wynter is a submissive and agrees only if she'll allow him to be her Master.
Deal struck Kai finds himself in Wynters fortress but he's unable to touch her skin directly or risk death. The chemistry between the two is amazing, but the fact that Kai cannot touch her is straining to the relationship. The characters in this story deal with their attraction while trying to sort of their differences, will one season be enough for either of them? I enjoyed this story and will be looking for more books from this author.
