Hey Y'all!

I can't get over how many people are already thinking of going next year.

This will be my first Authors After Dark event and my second ever author/reader event but I am totally looking forward to meeting everyone in person and seeing New Orleans for the first time. I have always dreamt about going to see this city. I won't really be comparing AAD2012 to RWA, or RT because I have yet to go to those conferences, but I have heard so many good things about it from other authors that I think it is too good to pass up an opportunity and I have the perfect excuse to sell it to hubby. It's my birthday that week.

Well, the first step is done. I registered. Next thing I have to do is make the hotel registration so I have someplace to stay and then it's transportation and next thing I know it will be time to go.

Excuse the avatar. I'll try to get a more up to date picture up later. This one works for now as representing my love of romance but I like the idea of being able to recognize everyone when I get there.

About me: I am a writer, a mother of two lovely girls, and have been married for about sixteen years now. I live a rather boring life in the suburbs of Nashville and can't wait to meet everyone and will be bringing empty suitcases so I can bring home all the great books and info about the writing business I can find at the conference. lol

Anyway, I can't wait to meet everyone! *waves

I look forward to meeting you in person too, Trinity. I think it's great how many people I kind of know (virtually anyway).

We have to take a field trip to see the cemeteries for sure. I don't know about creepy or not. I don't know enough about New Orleans, but when I think about it I relate it to things like Disneyland and the jazz bands that played on the streets in Disneyland. Okay and maybe the Haunted Mansion but I don't know what to compare it to yet. I guess I should read some guidebooks or something. lol

I am way too excited for this to be a year out.
